The nominees must be school-age Troy residents and may be nominated for recognition in one of the following categories. Criteria for each category is defined and included with the nomination form:
NOMINATIONS DUE FEBRUARY 27, 2017
The Coalition is proud to honor Incredible Kids during the month of February. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents, teachers and adult role models to recognize a child, between the ages of 5 and 12, that has made a positive impact in our community or has qualities that make him or her special. The child may have shoveled snow off your sidewalk, walked your dog, volunteered at your organization or overcome an obstacle. A healthy society recognizes the importance of all members of their community. Incredible Kid Recognition show young people that the community cares and appreciates them and wants them to grow up healthy and drug free.
The Troy Community Coalition for the Prevention of Drug and Alcohol Abuse wants to honor these wonderful, considerate, young people. We will recognize these Incredible Kids at a special Coalition ceremony held at the Troy Community Center on Thursday, February 23, 2017. Spread the word and take the time to nominate an Incredible Kid!
Please submit this form along with a donation of your choosing so the Coalition may continue to offer programs benefiting all who live or work in Troy. Due to space limitations at the Troy Community Center nominations will only be accepted for individuals and/or small groups. Thank you for your participation.
Submit nomination form by January 31, 2017 to email@example.com

We are ten days into the new year and how many of you haven't made your New Year's resolutions list yet? Or if you have, are you willing to add one more resolution to your list? If you haven't thought about volunteering, the New Year is a perfect beginning to your volunteer "career."
There are so many great "perks" in having a volunteer career: you are your own boss; you set your own hours; and you have tons of options from which to choose.
But do you want to know the greatest "perk" of being a volunteer? Knowing that even though you are but one person, you are making a difference no matter if you volunteer once a week, once a month or even once a year.
If you spend an hour working at a local event such as a fundraiser or a community festival, it's not just about the act of collecting money or working at the registration table. It sends a message of your investment in the community and everyone who lives there.
If you spend an hour raking leaves for a senior citizen this fall, it's not just about the act of raking leaves. You are letting that them know that the community cares about our senior citizens and we did not forget them.
If you spend an hour working with children, it's not just about the act of spending time with that child. Adults are role models whether we like it or not and in that role, we are teaching children kindess, compassion and the art of giving back.
We here at Leadership Troy have made our own New Year's Resolution for 2017. We want to the "go-to" website for all of the many great opportunities to volunteer in our community. We are hoping more volunteers, businesses and non-profits will join us to fulfull our resolution. Please click here for more information about Leadership Troy and the benefits of joining us.
Remember that even one person can make a difference. Even giving one hour of your time can make a profound difference in another person's life.
